I don’t see how Reno placed above Las Vegas. In my opinion, Reno is not that great of a place to live. There is nothing to do and the place is falling apart.

  2. Francine Says:

I do believe Las Vegas is a great plac e tp raise a family. Look at the parks, church’s and yes the school system. There are many great schools and teachers trying to do the right think.
Our biggest issue or concern is Jim Gibbens. On well that’a another topic.

  3. Mike G Says:

Yes I have to agree, surprised that Reno beat out Vegas. Must be factors such as less hot weather, less traffic, Lake Tahoe over Lake Mead. If I had to guess.

  4. Paul Francis, CRS Says:

Actually, Best Life ranked Las Vegas as #32 for Best Places to Raise a Family. A little bit of a difference.

What, Reno above Las Vegas- your kidding right? I lived up their for eight years and I just have to say Reno should not even be on the list.

  6. E.F. Says:

With the growing population in Las Vegas I can’t see how the city can stay on the list at all. The increase in crime, lower educational scores, high teenage pregnancy, high automobile accidents, and the list goes on and on. We need the government to keep up with the uncontrolled growth if we want to stay on the list.

  7. John P. Says:

Anyone who thinks this is a great place to live has never lived anywhere else. Our politicians are corporate puppets to the casinos who will fight tooth and nail every time time we show the need for better schools, roads and assistance to those in need. The mayor would rather close parks than ensure their safety. The governor is a buffoon who won his position easily. There is so much crime that the media reports only about 10% of it. Our schools specialize in high school dropouts (#1 in the nation for 20 years)gangbangers and prostitutes.

  8. Debbie Says:

Las Vegas would be the place to live if you have no children, the night life is spectacular but if you have kids the education system is outrageously poor, the kids are not making the grade. You have sex and porn on corners where kids have to wait for school buses. There is not enough to do in Las Vegas for families, not to mention the stiffling heat for your beloved animals. The driving there is so unpolite there is no courtesy driving, heck lets just say people cannot drive in Las Vegas, I’ve never seen so many accidents for stupid traffic wrong doings. We relocated back home to Wisconsin, Las Vegas was fun for us Adults but horrible for children and animals.

Now how much do yall want to bet These people have never lived in Las Vegas With there Families.
There might be some great areas of town. But not at night. The area where i live off of D street and Washington ave. Is TERRIBLE. My son has been shot at twice walking home from the bus stop since Spring Break. My daughter has been sexually harrased everyday at high school and i say something about it to the school and they say we will check into it. There is shots fired every single night in my area. Our kids can not go outside after 5 a clock with fear of being shot, stabbed, jumped, raped or kidnapped. Vegas is terrible Place for kids. When the sun goes down over here and most of northtown No one is safe. So someone tell me What are these people Talking About.
