At Stephanie St… all traffic must stop for a light at Power Center at the Galleria Mall entrance- why?
The mall is closed all night!
I’ve seen 18 cars on Stephanie waiting for the light to change, and no cars out of the mall area… zero!
What a waste of time and expensive gas!

RTC FAST technicians investigated and monitored the light at Stephanie and the Galleria Mall entrance.
They spent a lot of time on it- but didn’t find any issues with the signal’s detection.
However, they did notice that every so often a pedestrian would cross between Sunset Station and the mall. If the pedestrian signal gets activated, drivers will experience that long wait at the light, because Sunset is such a wide street to cross at this location.
It is easy for a driver to not notice that the pedestrian signal has been activated. If so, it could easily seem like a malfunctioning light. RTC FAST thinks this is the issue. They’ll continue to monitor this location on closed-circuit cameras to be certain.
