Heading south on Simmons, between Lone Mountain and Craig, the south lane narrows to one lane with a barricade that constantly gets hit! School buses, the 119 city bus, and a gazillion drivers use this route. I’ve been enduring this dangerous blockade for five years. Help!

Public works agrees with you Sally- this is a problem.
They’re prepping plans for a project to widen the bridge over the drainage channel, and, to widen Simmons south of the channel.
The project will eliminate the bottleneck at the channel, and provide two lanes in each direction south of the channel, wide enough to avoid playing bumper cars with the barricade.
Construction is projected to begin in the summer of 2010 and will be completed in the spring of 2011.
