Two Lanes Cut Down to One?

Rick’s Question: Rick wrote in and wants to know why, what was originally two lanes– is now just down to one!He says: They have rebuilt the intersection at Buffalo and Warm Springs. It appears to be for a strip mall that they stopped building a year ago!The line painters decided to make the two-lane road a single-lane going north and there are no signs to say the second lane ends. What was wrong with keeping the two lanes going straight?

 Melissa’s Answer:

I spoke to the County and this intersection is another case of construction work that is temporarily on hold. The developer for the area is currently having some issues with the initial road designs. County reps recently met with the project’s developer and told them that new lane plans are needed for here, fast. The developer is now in the process of re-designing the entire intersection. The county is working to get new plans set up for the area.  However there is no exact date, of when. Unfortunately for now, drivers will have to work with just the one skinny lane- until the project gets completed. I know this is frustrating…time to pull out the old patience card!
