walgreens_180.jpgLocal pharmacists are on heightened alert after two more armed robberies this Wednesday morning.

Police believe the robberies were the work of different thieves who are out for the same thing — the powerful prescription painkiller Oxycontin.

One Oxycontin tablet will cost about $11 at most pharmacies but on the streets, that same pill can rake in anyone from $50-100 for drug dealers.

On December 23 a suspect entered a convenience store at Flamingo and Arville.

Police say the man grabbed some food before walking to the cashier.

Metro is looking for a suspect who shot a man in the head Monday night at a bank ATM.

Police say the victim was using a Wells Fargo ATM near Sahara and Valley View around 10 p.m. when someone robbed and shot him.

The victim drove himself to his home and called police. His injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated and released from the hospital.

new-image.jpgHenderson police are looking for a woman who did not return home from a New Year’s Eve party.

Twenty-year-old Mariela Moreno was last seen by her family as she left for a party on Paradise road. Her boyfriend told police he dropped off Moreno at her home around 4:30 a.m. but did not watch her go inside the home.

Moreno is described as Hispanic, 5 ‘ 7 ” tall, weighing around 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
