renosuspect_1801.jpgSome significant developments in Reno in the investigation of the suspected kidnapping of Brianna Denison.

Policy say DNA evidence has now linked her case to two other attacks late last year on women in the same neighborhood near the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.

In addition, they say they’re investigating another 2007 case that could be related. That one involves the alleged rape of a woman who came forward for the first time yesterday to say she was assaulted at gunpoint in October in a parking garage just south of the Lawlor Events Center.

thomas.jpgThe Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing couple from Utah.

Thomas and Tamitha Garner were last seen in the Panaca area on Saturday. The Garners were last seen on surveillance video heading toward Utah on SR-319.

Police say they are presumed missing in the area east of Panaca on the Utah/Nevada border. The Lincoln County tamitha.jpgSheriff’s Office, the Civil Air Patrol and the Nevada Air National Guard began searching the area on Tuesday.

Weather conditions are hampering the ground search efforts due to snow, ice, terrain and frigid night time temperatures. Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee says the search will continue until further notice.

The pair were in a grey, 1999 Dodge Dakota truck with Utah plates 793 URF. The truck has a scorpion sticker in the back window. They also had their chocolate colored dog.

Police do not suspect foul play but are asking anyone who has seen the Garners to call the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office at 775-962-5151.

missing_04.jpgWith no suspects and little evidence, police asked the public for patience as they investigate the suspected kidnapping of a young Reno woman and appealed to friends and neighbors again Friday to offer up even the most “inconsequential” information they may have about her mysterious disappearance six days ago.

Crime lab technicians have yet to determine whether a stain on a pillow at the suspected crime scene is the blood of Brianna Denison, Reno police spokesman Steve Frady said Friday.

The 19-year-old college student hasn’t been seen since about 4 a.m. on Sunday when she went to sleep on a couch at the home of a friend a few blocks from the University of Nevada, Reno, campus, about a half-mile from the downtown casino district.

missing_03.jpgPolice questioned a man about a missing 19-year-old college student but said he is not a suspect in her disappearance.

The man was interviewed because he had given a ride home to Brianna Denison’s friend the night Denison mysteriously vanished, police said.

“We have spoken with the person who was driving the Suburban that we were looking for originally and he is not involved in the case,” Ron Holladay, a Reno police commander, said Wednesday in an interview with CBS’ “Early Show.”

Denison was last seen at 4 a.m. Sunday. Police said she was sleeping on a couch near an unlocked glass door after a night of partying. When her friends awoke later that morning, she was gone — but her clothes, purse and cell phone were left behind.
