Police Looking For Robbery Suspect

robber_01_180.jpgPolice are looking for a suspect who robbed a convenience store.

On December 31, 2007 a man entered a convenience store near Sahara and Arville. Police say the suspect entered the store speaking to himself in Spanish and when an employee greeted him, the suspect produced a firearm and committed a robbery.

Detectives from Metro’s Robbery Section are requesting assistance in identifying the suspect involved in this case. They say the man is a Hispanic, about 45-years-old and about 165 pounds.

Help Police ID Robbery Suspect

robbery2_cab_180.jpgPolice are hoping that someone will recognize the man responsible for robbing a cab driver. The robbery took place on Feb. 24 at 1:25 a.m. on Paradise Road.

The driver picked the suspect on Las Vegas Blvd. and headed to an address on Paradise where police say the man held a gun to the driver’s head.The driver was able to get out of the car and run away. The suspect drove away in the cab. Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.

 
Metro Looking for Robber

robber_180_01.jpgOn February 22, 2008, a check cashing business on south Buffalo was the victim of a robbery. The suspect is believed to be the same suspect that robbed another check cashing business on February 6, 2008.

The suspect entered, showed the worker a gun and demanded money. The suspect then left the business on foot.

Witnesses say the suspect has a prominent goatee and walks with a noticeable limp.

Fugitive’s Family Hopes for Leniency

free_hazen_charles_180.jpgCharles Free, a fugitive that was on the run for more than 30 years, appeared for the first time in a Las Vegas courtroom Monday morning.

Conrad Claus, his attorney, asked the judge for 24 hours to talk to with his client and the fugitive hearing on extradition was rescheduled for Tuesday.

Police Looking For Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect

bank_180.jpgPolice are looking for a woman who attempted to rob a bank on Blue Diamond and Valley View.

On January 18th, police say a white female entered the bank and stood in the merchant line.

When she approached a teller, she handed over a blue bag that contained a note saying, “robbery, don’t be a hero, start with a stack of 100’s and a stack of 20’s, no funny money“.

The woman appeared to get scared as an armed security guard entered the bank and she hurriedly left without any money.

She was seen leaving into a black BMW with a commemorative plate.

Metro Makes Arrest in Coin Truck Robbery
Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Fast acting police work has at least one person in custody, along with evidence from a coin truck robbery yesterday morning.

“This is part of our commitment to the community that we would jump on top of these robberies and we would do it quick. Again, we got some information, we didn’t sit on it for 2 days and this is where we are at,” said Metro Robbery Lt. Clint Nichols.

3 Shot During Home Invasion Robbery

Police are investigating a home invasion robbery and shooting near Las Vegas Blvd. and Cheyenne.

Police say two men entered a home and attacked the victims. Three people were shot and two are in critical condition.

Metro Investigating Rash of Pharmacy Robberies
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

walgreens_180.jpgLocal pharmacists are on heightened alert after two more armed robberies this Wednesday morning.

Police believe the robberies were the work of different thieves who are out for the same thing — the powerful prescription painkiller Oxycontin.

One Oxycontin tablet will cost about $11 at most pharmacies but on the streets, that same pill can rake in anyone from $50-100 for drug dealers.

Metro Looking For Several Robbery Suspects

On December 23 a suspect entered a convenience store at Flamingo and Arville.

Police say the man grabbed some food before walking to the cashier.

Metro Investigating Robbery and Shooting at ATM
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Metro is looking for a suspect who shot a man in the head Monday night at a bank ATM.

Police say the victim was using a Wells Fargo ATM near Sahara and Valley View around 10 p.m. when someone robbed and shot him.

The victim drove himself to his home and called police. His injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated and released from the hospital.
