Alleged Theives Attack Man on Street

Metro is searching for two suspects — a man and a woman – in a street robbery that happened July 31, 2009.
Police say the robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Maryland Pkwy. and Bonanza. The suspects asked the victim for $1 and when he refused, police say, he was thrown to the ground and robbed. Anyone with information is asked to call (702) 385-5555.

Police Look for Robbery Suspect

Robbery_man_180An suspect robbed a business in the area of Tropicana and Hualapai on Aug. 1, 2009, according to Metro.
Police say the man pretended to have a weapon when he demanded money. Police are asking anyone who can identify the man to call Metro’s Robbery Section at (702)828-3591 or CrimeStoppers at (702) 385-5555.

Big Shoplifting Ring Busted

shoplift_tide_180.jpgMetro Police have busted a major shoplifting ring and seized nearly $100,000 worth of stolen goods and you might be surprised to find out what those goods were.

Police found more than 2,000 bottles of shampoo, 300 rolls of toilet paper, 447 deodorant sticks, 150 tequila bottles and 120 cans of baby formula.

Police discovered the ring when the number of shoplifting cases and arrests started to spike. Those arrests gave them the leads they needed to crack the case.

Three people are the suspected ring leaders, each facing charges for possession of stolen goods. Police say about 30 thieves were involved and sold the merchandise to ringleaders.

Police Hunt for Cordial Crook

9713064_bg3.jpgThe hunt is on for a man who has robbed several banks in the last few weeks, often ending his crime with a nice thought – “Thank you and God bless.”

Wednesday morning, he struck again, pulling off his tenth bank robbery in Las Vegas Valley since September. Police say he’s even robbed one bank twice.

The bandit hit again Wednesday at the Washington Mutual branch on Maryland Parkway and Sahara. Police say he waited in line and fled with money. Metro and the FBI are desperate to catch this repeat robber.

“He’ll wait in line — he’ll wait until he approaches a teller, and he will either present a note or he will tell them that he wants the cash out of the drawer. And on some occasions, he’s even threatened that he may have a weapon,” said Metro Robbery Lt. Clint Nichols.

Teen Brings Loaded Gun to Las Vegas School

A Shadow Ridge High School student was taken into custody for having a loaded gun on campus. The 16-year-old junior is now at juvenile hall after school police found him carrying a loaded 9mm gun in his waistband.

It happened just after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police aren’t saying where the student got the weapon, but say he was apprehended without any incident. Police also say it does not appear the student found with the gun had any intention to use the weapon on campus.

Metro Looking for Convenience Store Robbers

Suspect #3 is described as a black male adult, 5′10″ and 160 lbs.Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5′6″ and 150 lbs.Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5′6″ and 150 lbs.

Metro police are looking for information on three suspects accused of robbing a convenience store near the 5000 block of Mountain Vista Street. Police say the suspects pulled a gun on an employee and demanded money.

Police Search for Sexual Assault Suspect

Police say the 32-year-old woman was stopped at a red light at Seven Hills Dr. and Sunridge Heights Pkwy. when a man got into her car and demanded at gunpoint that she drive him to a park. Police say the woman was assaulted at Vivaldi Park.

Missing Infant Found Safe

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 3-month-old infant who was last seen with a babysitter.

Police say the child, Lorianne Marie Evans, was being babysat by Ebony Shantee Nelson, a 26-year-old woman.

Nelson did have persmission to babysit the child but the infant was not returned to the mother at the agreed time and place. Nelson, who is 26-years-old, is known to live along Boulder Highway in daily or weekly rental places.

Robbery Suspect Takes Off With Entire Cash Register

Police say the suspect entered the retail store with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect wore a black tee-shirt with the wording  “All Access Granted” and drove away in a white or gray Chevrolet Impala style vehicle.

Police Seek Store Robber

Police are looking for a suspect who tried to rob a store on Sahara and Nellis last month. They say the suspect went into the store on May 4, 2008 and handed a worker a note demanding money.

The suspect was armed with a knife, but took off without any money after the worker alerted the manager.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20’s. He was seen driving away in a gray sedan, possibly a Toyota Tercel.
