Teen Surrenders in Stabbing Death

A 16-year-old teen has surrendered to police and has been booked into the detention center for murder with a deadly weapon.
Police say Steven Hogue stabbed 17-year-old Richard Martinez to death during an after-school fight that escalated on Oct. 8. The stabbing happened near Torrey Pines and U.S. 95. and numerous students from nearby schools witnessed the fight.
Police say Hogue pulled out a knife and stabbed Martinez several times. Martinez died at the hospital.

I knew both Richard and Steven back from school. I just can’t believe what happened and I was just informed on who was involved in this tragic event. Steven now needs to accept the consequences that are to come after what he did. I loved Richard dearly as a friend and he will be missed. May be rest in peace.

I do believe if i was there this would not have happend. my family has moved me away from that area because I was doing bad,richard was my best friend,please tell his family im sorry I wasnt there to stop this from happening.

Hunter Vanzant has no idea how foolish his comment is!
He admits that he was caught up in this group of morons- “I was doing bad”.
The truth is more likely that he would have been stabbed too. Or arrested with his buddy.
Consider yourself lucky.
