A woman is recovering after being shot during an attempted robbery. It happened around 6:30 a.m. near Lake Mead and Torrey Pines.

Police say an armed man approached her in her car and attempted to steal her car. He then opened fire, hitting the woman twice.

She then drove to a nearby gas station where she was able to get help.

The gunman was able to get away.

Right now, authorities have a vague description of him.
