Police say what started as an argument over slashed tires on Jan. 23, 2006 ended in the murder of a 16-year-old boy.
Thirty-year-old Donald Schuster, the man accused of gunning down the teenager in a neighbor's front yard is being tried on charges of murder, attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Sixteen-year-old Jon Michael Ginoulias was shot and killed and another teen was injured after a fight broke out in a Summerlin neighborhood between Schuster and a group of teens returning from a party.
Police say Schuster was upset and believed the teens had slashed his girlfriend's tires. Schuster's attorney claims the shootings were in self defense and that Schuster and his brother were being assaulted by the teens when Schuster managed to break free, run into his home and retrieve a gun.
Schuster later admitted to police what he did was wrong and he could have handled the situation differently. Now, a jury will decide if Schuster acted improperly.
