UNLV is offering to buyout hundreds of faculty and staff members as it copes with mandatory budget cuts.

The university notified all employees Friday it's instituting a voluntary separation package with nearly 300 hundred faculty and staff members. Officials say the moves could save the university as much as $5 million a year.
