Officials say voter turnout was extremely low for municipal elections during the first weekend of early voting for primary elections.

Fewer than 3,000 people cast ballots since early voting started Saturday in most municipalities. Early voting continues through April 3. The primary election is April 7.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a North Las Vegas daycare center where a toddler drowned in January.

The suit file by the mother of 18-month-old Jordan Williams alleges Marisela's Family Daycare Center was negligent in failing to care for her son. The boy and a three-year-old were found in a hot tub attached to a pool at the home-based daycare on January 13, 2009.

The three-year-old survived.

The Clark County District Attorney's Office has ruled the drowning was accident and did not file any charges.

A toddler fell through the second story window at his home in North Las Vegas Sunday afternoon. 

The 2-year-old child hit the ground and was bloodied from the fall, but escaped with minor injuries. 

North Las Vegas Police dispatched their Crime Scene Investigation Unit to the home in the 5700 Block of Distant Drum Drive, off Tropical Parkway and Pecos.  They say it's routine to send investigators to any scene where a child suffers injuries. 

The child's mother took the child to a nearby fire station for aid.  Police say it is always advisable to call 911, cautioning that moving the child could cause additional injuries. 

The child was rushed from the station to UMC Trauma.  Doctors say the child received some mild to moderate injuries, but luckily escaped any serious or life threatening damage to the body. 

Station Casinos plans to file for a pre-packaged bankruptcy on or before April 15th. The company, hurt by the recession, plans to reorganize in an effort to restructure billions of dollars of debt.

The date was confirmed in a Nevada federal court filing. The document is a response to a lawsuit by Station Casino's investor S. Black Murchison. He's challenging Station's debt swap proposal.

Part of the pre-packaged bankruptcy asks investors holding $2.3 billion dollars in station bonds to accept between 10 and 50 cents on the dollar in cash and new notes.

However, Station Casino's spokeswoman Lori Nelson says the April 15th filing date is only one of three options the company is considering. The other options include filing a regular Chapter 11 bankruptcy without bondholder approval or seeking a second extension from their debtors.

Station Casinos has several Las Vegas properties including Aliante Station, Palace Station, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock Casino, Boulder Station, Sunset Station, Fiesta Station, Santa Fe and Texas Stations.

A North Las Vegas man is dead and now police are looking for at least three men for questioning. North Las Vegas police say they need the public's help in solving this murder.

Early Saturday morning, a young man was found shot several times near Main and Owens, north of downtown Las Vegas. He was taken to UMC where he later died.

Police were initially responding to a call of shots fired in the 1700 block of Yale Avenue when the discovered the critically injured 23-year-old victim.

In talking with neighbors, police say the victim lives in the area and was most likely returning home from work.

Sergeant Tim Bedwell described the ambush, “He was attacked right when he was coming home. We don't know exactly what the circumstances are. We'll find out over time. Ultimately this is a tragedy for him and his family.”

Witnesses saw a car leave the scene immediately after the shooting. They described it as a late model white or silver Chrysler 300. Witnesses say they also saw a small red SUV, possibly a Chevy Jimmy or Blazer in the area around the time of the murder.

The recession has hit Las Vegas businesses hard with some having to downsize and others being forced to close. But one national company is expanding locally.

Target celebrated the grand opening of its newest store in North Las Vegas on Sunday as well as 26 other openings across the country.

The adage “If you build it, they will come,” was certainly the case. The parking lot was full and the store busy on opening day.

This new Target store is located off of the 215 and North Fifth Street. The official grand opening was Sunday in order to overlap with the store's Sunday sales and specials. Despite the recession, Target manager Bruce Holler says they're finding a way to compete with other discount stores.

Target is adding onto its food section and focusing on its home care and beauty products. As of 2008, the stores total profits fell 22-percent, but it's not keeping the company from adding stores in areas where they see growth.

Target will open two more stores in Las Vegas. Another one in North Las Vegas and one on Green Valley Parkway.

In a race that saw a record 14 yellow caution-flags, Las Vegas native Kyle Busch took the checkered flag of victory at the Shelby 427 NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 

The win is the first for the Durango High School alumni at the race course in his hometown. 

Busch took the pole position, but because of an engine change was pushed to the back of the pack. He fought his way through the other drivers and the cautions and overtook leader Clint Boyer to win. 

Busch's older brother Kurt also participated in the race, finishing 23rd.

Meanwhile, Matt Kenseth's bid to make NASCAR history — seeking to become the first driver to win the first three races of the season — ended on the sixth lap when the motor in his car failed.
