North Las Vegas firefighters say a 4-alarm blaze that badly damaged a row of offices and prompted the evacuation of the Speedway Casino and Ramada Inn was accidental.
Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Brame says Tuesday that an electrical malfunction in the attic sparked the fire that badly damaged a row of former motel rooms-turned-offices near Interstate 15 and Cheyenne Avenue.
About 35 people who were in the offices were evacuated and no injuries were reported after the fire about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
It took 100 firefighters from North Las Vegas, Clark County and Las Vegas about 3 hours to quell flames.
The fire left about half of the second floor gutted.
The building isn't connected to the casino and motel, and Brame says there wasn't any damage to either of those facilities.
