An Arizona man who went on a stabbing rampage in a Las Vegas grocery store is due to be sentenced today.

The frightening attack which left four people injured was recorded by a witness on a cell phone  in March of 2007.  Jerry Gomez pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the attempted murder attack at the Food 4 Less store in North Las Vegas.

The video showed Gomez stabbing a slot machine attendant and then turning the knife on a security guard. The guard and shoppers used a broom handle and their fists to subdue Gomez.

Later, in an exclusive jail house interview with Eyewitness News, he apologized. “I feel very sorry for what I did, I wished I wouldn't have done it,” Gomez said.
