May 8, 2008 – 6500 Block of Rancho Santa Fe

Friday, May 9th, 2008

At approximately 8:45 p.m., Metro Police received a call from a man saying there was a shooting at a house on Rancho Santa Fe avenue.

When officers arrived, they found 57-year-old Sharon Randolph inside the house, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. There was also a man, later identified as 38-year-old Michael Miller, who was deceased in the garage of the residence, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene and have preliminarily determined that the residents of the house, a husband and wife, had left their home for the evening and when they returned, they interrupted Miller who was burglarizing the residence.

The suspect shot and killed Randolph and then became involved in a confrontation with the husband. During the struggle, the husband shot and killed Miller.

The husband and wife knew the Miller as a handyman who did odd jobs around their home. Detectives are continuing their investigation.

UPDATE

Thomas Randolph, husband of Sharon Randolph, has been arrested and charged with the deaths of both Sharon and Michael Miller. Police say Randolph hired Miller to kill his wife, and then killed Miller.

April 24, 2008 – Pringle Way and SR 157

trunk_body_180.jpgOn April 24, 2008, Metro Resident Officers were notified of a brown, 2002 Ford Escort abandoned since April 22nd on Pringle Way and SR 157 on Mt. Charleston. Officers responded to the scene and found the body of 51-year-old Salvador Gonzalez inside the car’s trunk.

Homicide detectives responded and the investigation revealed Gonzalez had been reported missing by family in the early evening hours of Monday, April 21st.

Police say Gonzalez had obvious sharp force injuries.

Gonzalez was last seen driving his Ford Escort in the area of Valley View and Charleston on Monday, April 21st.

February 16, 2008 – 6000 Block of Ridgecarn Ave.

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Police are investigating the shooting death of 63-year-old Jean Eaker on February 16, 2008 in the 6000 block of Ridgecarn Ave.

Detectives believe Jean was killed in a murder/suicide plot. They are still investigating the crime.

February 17, 2008 – 8700 block of Isola Drive

allainna1.jpgAllainna McClain was found dead on Sunday, February 17, 2008. She was 24-years-old. Metro Police say they got a 911 call reporting a deceased woman in the garage of a residence in the 8700 block of Isola Drive.

Patrol officers and paramedics arrived and determined the woman was deceased.

The Clark County Coroner has ruled her death as a homicide as a result of strangulation. According to police, McClain’s body was found inside a car by her mother-in-law.

McClain was a mother of two young children.

——UPDATED 04/01/2008——

An Arrest Warrant was later issued for 29- year-old Clifford McClain for the Murder of Allainna McClain. Clifford McClain was Allainna’s ex-husband.

On March 27, 2008, Clifford McClain appeared in Justice Court, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. McClain was later released from CCDC on bond.

February 15, 2007 – 10700 Block of Alta Drive

palo_chris_180.jpgA 9th grade student from Palo Verde High School was shot at 1:45 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died. The shooting happened as the student was walking on Alta Drive, approximately 250 yards East of Pavilion Center.

The student was walking with a group of other students when the shooting occurred. Police have arrested two teens in connection with the shooting.

The victim has been identified as 15-year-0ld Chris Privett. He was a Palo Verde student.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the shooting to contact them at 828-2281.

January 11, 2008 – 6300 Block of Casada Way

bobby-joe-g1.jpgMetro is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and three more injured.

The shooting happened late Friday night near Torrey Pines and Charleston at about 10 p.m.

Police say they received numerous 911 calls reporting shots being fired. When officers arrived, they discovered a black male, later identified as 26-year-old Bobby Guss, who had died from several gun shot wounds.

Three others people, a 16-year-old juvenile, 17-year-old juvenile and a 20-year-old adult were also shot. They were transported to UMC with moderate injuries.

Homicide detectives were called and began the investigation. They found that the victims were in an alley when they were approached by two men. One of the men, described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5′9″, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, pulled out a handgun and began firing at the group.

The two men then left on foot and were seen leaving the area in a 1990’s Chevy Silverado extended cab truck, described as brown or copper color with a light colored center strip.
