On the morning of August 24, officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department were called to the Fort Cheyenne casino for a shots fired call.
When officers arrived, they found that security guards heard several gunshots in the parking lot and ran to investigate. That is where they found 24-year-old Melchor Aguilar-Bravo dead in the parking lot from a gunshot wound.
Police continue to investigate.
On the night of July 19, North Las Vegas Police got a call of a man shot near Owens and
Witnesses say 25-year-old Orlando Basurto-Carranza was waving at a car and yelling for the driver to slow down. Police say someone in the car pulled out a gun and started shooting. The car then sped off.
North Las Vegas Police are investigating the shooting death of 17-year-old Crystal Anderson.
Officers say on the afternoon of June 28, they were called to a house on the 2100 block of Turtle Beach to investigate a suspicious situation. Officers say they got a call from a man reporting a gunshot inside his home. The man investigated the noise and saw his roommate, 41-year-old Servando Ruiz-Gonzalez, leaving the area. When the man went toward Ruiz-Gonzalez’s bedroom, he saw a body lying on the floor.
Police arrived and found Anderson in the bedroom, dead from a gunshot wound.
Ruiz-Gonzalez later called police from Boulder Station to report the crime. He was taken into custody at the hotel and booked on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
North Las Vegas Police are investigating the shooting death of 31-year-old Will Bias.
Police say Bias was shot at a house and died at the scene. Detectives are still investigating.
North Las Vegas Police are investigating the shooting death of 41-year-old Irma Medina-DeNajera.
Police say Medina-Denajera was shot at an apartment complex on April 14, 2008 and taken to UMC Trauma. She died six days later.
North Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting that might be connected to road rage.
Officers were called to the area near the Buena Vista Springs Apartments near Martin Luther King and Cartier. When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Wornzie Lee Thomas, Jr. inside a damaged car, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Thomas was transported to UMC where he died from his injuries.
At about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th, North Las Vegas Police were called to the area of Mayflower and Martin Luther King to investigate a reported deceased person.
When they arrived, officers found a deceased man with mutiple gunshot wounds. The victim was found inside a black Dodge Durango that was parked on the south side of the road.
The coroner has identified the man as 34-year-old Cornell Joshua. He lived in North Las Vegas.
