Las Vegas Metro Police are investigating the shooting death of 44-year-old Tryone Nelon.

Police say Nelon was arguing with another man on Jackson Avenue,  near Owens and H Street when he was shot in the head. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

No other details have been released.

Around midnight on April 18, 2009, North Las Vegas Police Department got a call of shots fired in the 3900 block of Yellow Mandarin Court.

When Officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Darryl Pickens dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. They also found 33-year-old Levin Wright in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Wright was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died.

No other information has been released.

On the morning of April 2, 2009, North Las Vegas Police Detectives responded to a homicide at the North Las Vegas Detention Center.

Police say during a routine cell count, corrections officers discovered that 31-year-old Sergio Morales-Paredes was missing. Officers began looking for Morales-Paredes and found him under a mattress in his cell bleeding from the face and not breathing. Officers called for medical attention, but Morales-Paredes had already died.

Detectives booked 25-year-old Armando Munoz-Ornelas for one count of murder. Munoz-Ornelas was sharing a cell with Morales-Paredes at the time of the incident.

North Las Vegas Police Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 22-year-old Jacob Deaton. Police say Deaton was shot in the area of Yale Avenue on the night March 11, 2009. Deaton was transported to UMC where he died of his injuries.

Police say a late model Chrysler 300 was seen leaving the scene just after the shooting. Officers are also looking for a small red SUV, possibly a Blazer or Jimmy,  that was in the area at the time of the murder.

On the night of February 27, 2009, North Las Vegas Police Officers were called to Sunny Market on Lake Mead Blvd after getting calls of shots fired. When they got to the scene, they found 46-year-old Debra Cooper dead from gunshot wounds.

Police say a group of men became involved in an argument inside the store. The fight spilled outside and shots were fired. Cooper was apparently an innocent bystander at the scene and was shot.

No one has been arrested for her murder.

On the morning of February 20, 2009, North Las Vegas Police Officers responded to an apartment on Casa Norte Drive after getting calls of a domestic disturbance. The caller said they saw a man had held a gun to a woman’s head inside the apartment.

Officers made brief contact with a man at the apartment door, but say the man retreated back inside and fired shots at them though a window. Several shots were heard coming from inside the apartment as officers took cover.

Police put up a perimeter around the apartment and called for help. A SWAT team, crisis negotiators, K9 units, and other personnel responded to the scene and patrol officers evacuated nearby apartments.

Just before 8:00 a.m., the SWAT team went inside the apartment to rescue the hostage and arrest the suspect. When they entered, the team found 23-year-old Crystal Klinkenberg and the suspect dead from gunshot wounds. Police believe the suspect shot Klinkenberg before turning the gun on himself.

North Las Vegas Police Department received 911 calls reporting shots fired on Rose Sage Street. When officers arrived, they found 51-year-old John Norris lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Norris was a delivery man for Pizza Hut. The house he was delivering to had been vacant for several years, according to neighbors.

Police have released a sketch of a man seen in the area before the shooting. He is described as a black man with brown eyes, about 17 to 25-years-old and heavy set. He’s about five feet ten inches tall.

There is a $22,000 reward to find whoever is responsible for this crime. Pizza Hut, Meadow Gold Dairy and CrimeStoppers are offering the reward. If you have any information or saw the suspect, call CrimeStoppers at 385-5555.

Just before 8:00 p.m., North Las Vegas Police stopped two suspects. Police say an argument ensued and the officer was forced to shoot and kill 18-year-old Tyrise Bell.

Police say Bell was armed and a weapon was recovered.

Police are investigating the shooting death of 17-year-old Eric Knox, Jr. North Las Vegas Police say Knox died after being shot at an apartment complex on Cheyenne near Simmons.

Knox was taken to UMC where he died in surgery.

Detectives with the North Las Vegas Police Department are investigating the shooting death of 51-year-old Thomas Buster. Police say Buster was shot on October 3, 2008 near Las Vegas Blvd and Lake Mead.

Police have identified Joseph Fleming as a suspect in this case.
