On the night of February 5, 2009, Metro Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Del Sueno Drive in east Las Vegas. When officers arrived, they found three people shot — two of which were dead at the scene. The third victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital where she recovered from her injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and determined that 42-year-old Ricky Shadoan went to his estranged wife’s parent’s house on Del Sueno after he had been served divorce papers earlier in the day. Shadoan and his wife began arguing at the side of the home when Shadoan pulled out a gun and shot her in the chest.

After being shot, she ran to the back of the house where her father, 61-year-old Richard Green, pulled her inside. Shadoan was able to enter the home and continued to fire his weapon. He shot Green in the chest, killing him.

Shadoan then chased his wife and shot her at least four more times before eventually turning the weapon on himself.

The wife was able to flee to a neighbor’s residence where they summoned help.

The couple have two children who were in the residence at the time of the shooting. They were unharmed.

Both Shadoan and Green were found deceased at the scene.

In the early morning hours of August 25, 2008, EMT’s and police responded to a call of a man down at the intersection of Nellis and Sahara. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Harold Polk suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.

Polk was transported to UMC where he was treated. He survived and remained in local hospitals until his death on January 6, 2009.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office determined that Polk’s death was the result of the gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Police say Mr. Polk appears to be homeless. He left a convenience store on Nellis and Sahara about a half hour before he was shot. He was wearing a black t-shirt with yellow printing saying, “I stood up for Skeeter,” and black pants. Shortly thereafter, Polk was discovered on the ground.

Anyone with information about Mr. Polk’s death is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (702) 385-5555.
