December 20, 2009 — 600 Block of Cherokee Street

Police say 50-year-old Byron Richards was shot by his cousin at their Sandy Valley, Nevada home on December 20, 2009,

Metro says Richards’ cousin, 59-year-old Kenny Turner, shot him after an argument over living arrangements.

Richards was transported to University Medical Center where he later died. Turner has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

December 12, 2009 — 1800 Block of Oasis Court

Police have arrested Walter Freshmen for the murder of his wife, 57-year-old Kristine Freshman.

Officers say Freshman called 911 saying he accidentally shot his wife. When police went to the couple’s Laughlin home, they found Kristine Freshman with a gunshot wound to the head.

After an investigation they determined Freshman murdered his wife and arrested him.

January 10, 2009 — Lake Mead and Pabco Road

On the night of January 10, 2009, Metro Police were called to the responded to the area of Lake Mead and Pabco Road after getting reports of a man down at that location.

When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Ambrosio Lizarraga dead from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police are looking for anyone who knows the victim and can give them more information about him.

August 5, 2008 – I-15 Near Mile Marker 19

On the morning of August 5, Metro Detectives responded to the desert area near I-15 and Primm after getting reports of a dead body found by a road worker.

Officers arrived and found 28-year-old Alejandro Guzman-Alvarez dead from sharp force injuries. A worker cleaning the area near the highway found Guzman-Alvarez’s body wrapped inside a blanket and called police.

No other information has been released.

July 24, 2008 – Mesquite

On July 24, Metro Homicide Detectives responded to a homicide in Mesquite, Nevada.

Police say 28-year-old Simon Ledezma was was found dead near I-15 and the Byron exit with obvious signs of trauma to the head.

No other details have been made available.
