May 1, 2009 — 3200 Block of McLeod Avenue

On the evening of May 1, 2009, Metro Officers were called to a stabbing at an apartment complex. Officers arrived and found 24-year-old Thomas Minton Jr. suffering from multiple stab wounds. Minton was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives say Minton and 61-year-old James Peters got into an argument inside the apartment,  and Peters stabbed Minton. Peters was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

    Thomas Minton Jr. who those of us who loved him lovingly called jr. was one of the kindest people i knew,he was more than that he was a brother to me in every sense of the word, the news of his senseless death hurts me so deeply i can’t even convey in words to his familly ,ie mom (ma) and Billy his brother my most deepest condolences on the family’s {OUR}loss .To Billy ..I’m sorry i wasnt there …and i want you to know man you still got one brother left..Dakota
