February 20, 2009 — Beasley and Charleston
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009On the night of February 20, 2009, Metro officers responded to reports of shots fired at a large party, near Beasley and Charleston. Officers arrived and discovered two teens shot multiple times.
Both victims were rushed to UMC and where 16-year-old Aric Brill later died.
Homicide detectives began their investigation into the shooting. They learned that both victims were at the party when they were confronted by the suspect. According to witnesses, the suspect produced two handguns and shot both victims. As the second victim was on the ground, the suspect robbed him and then fled the area.
Witnesses say there were several members of various street gangs that had arrived at the party unannounced prior to the shooting.
