In the early morning hours of March 18, 2009, police responded to shots fired near D Street and Alexander. Officers found 32-year-old Landtreon Taylor laying on a sidewalk dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators have no suspect or vehicle descriptions at this time.

On the evening of March 17, 2009, Metro officers conducted a welfare check on two elderly people living in the northwest part of Las Vegas. Officers knocked on the door of the couple’s house, but got no response. Police then entered the house and found an elderly male and 74-year-old Jeannette Artman in the master bedroom dead. Both died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Metro Homicide Detectives investigated and found that Artman and the male victim had been suffering from medical problems. Police determined the incident to be a murder/suicide.
Las Vegas Metro Police are investigating the death of 21-year-old Armando Castro.
Castro died from blunt force trauma to the head. No other details have been released.
North Las Vegas Police Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 22-year-old Jacob Deaton. Police say Deaton was shot in the area of Yale Avenue on the night March 11, 2009. Deaton was transported to UMC where he died of his injuries.
Police say a late model Chrysler 300 was seen leaving the scene just after the shooting. Officers are also looking for a small red SUV, possibly a Blazer or Jimmy, that was in the area at the time of the murder.

Police are investigating the murder of 44-year-old Teresa McCoy. McCoy was found strangled to death in a room at the Traveler’s Inn on Fremont Street.
No other details have been released.
On the morning of March 11, 2009, Henderson Police officers responded to the emergency room at St. Rose Siena Hospital. Police say 48-year-old Charles Campbell walked into the emergency room and told hospital staff he had a gun and wanted to kill himself.
A nurse called 911 and four Henderson Police officers arrived within minutes. The officers began evacuating the emergency room area and searching for Campbell.
Police say, two officers found Campbell in the emergency room area holding a gun. The officers ordered Campbell to drop his weapon, but he refused. Campbell then pointed the gun at the officers and they fired their weapons at him.
Campbell was struck once in the chest and hospital staff immediately began lifesaving procedures. The attempts to save Campbell’s life were unsuccessful.
No one else was injured.
Metro Police detectives are investigating the shooting death of 84-year-old Sophie Jozwiak. Officers say Jozwiak’s daughter’s boyfriend, John Delong, shot her and then turned the gun on himself.
Delong survived the shooting and was booked for one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
Police are investigating the shooting death of 22-year-old Sulyda Pheng.
No other information has been released.
On the night of February 27, 2009, North Las Vegas Police Officers were called to Sunny Market on Lake Mead Blvd after getting calls of shots fired. When they got to the scene, they found 46-year-old Debra Cooper dead from gunshot wounds.
Police say a group of men became involved in an argument inside the store. The fight spilled outside and shots were fired. Cooper was apparently an innocent bystander at the scene and was shot.
No one has been arrested for her murder.
Police are investigating the death of 15-year-old Angel Valera. The teen was killed after being purposefully struck by a car.
No other information has been released.
