Police were called to a rental property after a landlord was told by a tenant that his roommate was dead in a closet. When officers arrived, they found 48-year-old Jon Moore dead inside the home from an apparent gunshot wound.

While officers were securing the scene, one of Moore’s roommates, 47-year-old Perry Danley, requested to be placed in handcuffs. The officer placed handcuffs on Danley and found a handgun in his waistband.

Danley later confessed to detectives of shooting Moore, placing Moore’s body in a blanket and then locking the body in a closet where it remained for two weeks.

Danley remains in police custody where he is awaiting trial.
