Police are investigating the shooting death of 17-year-old Eric Knox, Jr. North Las Vegas Police say Knox died after being shot at an apartment complex on Cheyenne near Simmons.
Knox was taken to UMC where he died in surgery.
On the morning of November 23, 2008, Metro officers responded to a call that a female had been discovered dead in an apartment. When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Erika Mateos-Hernandez deceased in a bedroom in the rear of the apartment.
Police say they have no suspects and are looking for witnesses.

Police are investigating the death of 31-year-old Kimberly Long. Long was beaten to death with a hammer on the morning of November 13, 2008.
Police arrested 61-year-old Edward Preciado-Nuno, a retired FBI agent from San Diego. He is charged with the murder Long. She was his son’s girlfriend.
On November 6, 2008, Metro Officers responded to a violent domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they discovered 54-year-old Victoria Whitmarsh dead inside from multiple stab wounds.
They also found a male subject who is believed to be the victims boyfriend. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
No other information has been released.
On the morning of November 3, 2008, Metro officers responded to an apartment complex near 2800 S. Eastern to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 26-year-old Jonathon Lestelle in a back room dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers also discovered a pregnant female in the same room suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center and underwent surgery for her injuries.
Witnesses saw a man with a chain saw and an assault rifle prior to the shooting, and observed the same man fleeing directly after the shooting.
Police say the suspect is the female’s estranged husband, 25-year-old William Keck. Officers were able to locate Keck and took him into custody without incident. Keck was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
One-year-old Connor Irwin died of closed head injuries.
