August 11, 2008 – Local Hospital
On August 8, two-year-old Daniel Jaiyesimi was transported from his home to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. The boy passed away on August 11, 2008.
Metro’s Crimes Against Youth and Family investigated and found the boy and his family had relocated to the United States from Nigeria in December of 2007. The child and his family were living in the home of their local sponsor, 40-year-old Victor Fakoya and his family.
On August 8, the toddler was left in the care of Fakoya and during that time suffered injuries consistent with child abuse.
A warrant of arrest was issued on for Victor Fakoya. He was arrested on October 24, 2008 and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of felony murder by child abuse.

This is impossible! I grew up with Victor and know him to be an extremely disciplined guy who is fit for the Army. He would not lose his cool easily enough to abuse a 2-year old boy.

Yes I too can vouch for Viktor. He has never lost his temper or ever raised his hand to anyone yet a child. why do they not even look at the boys parents.
Here is a innocent man, who helps those around him without wanting anything in return. and because of the silence of the parents. he might be unjustly accused.
The loss of a child is hard but the loss of a great man is a travesty

Victor fakoya is a very nice man, I know him right from Nigeria. He is generous in whatsoever he is doing, he is careful and caring as well. He is neither careless nor wicked of commiting such allegation.

Since I read about his unfortunate arrest and the alleged offence, I have always remembered him in my prayer. he’s such a gentle, kind, focused and disciplined man. I have looked endlessly forward to seeing him back active, I have checked for information everywhere to know the outcome of the case but, to no avail. I am sad for him and his family. He’s such a lovable guy. Does anyone know the outcome of the case?

victor is my cousin, my oldest cousin in fact. what are “injuries consistent with child abuse”? of course, as a doctor, i know whatever those injuries are, they are not exclusive to child abuse, so why not give an innocent man a chance to be with his family. why allow innocent children and a wife become victims of circumstances? circumstances caused by their father’s kindness ( housing a family) . i know the truth will surely prevail. i only hope when it does, irreparable damage will not have been done.
