August 7, 2008 – 5000 Block of Tamarus

On the afternoon of August 7th, Metro Police got a call of a woman shot in the head on the 5000 block of Tamarus. When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Chennel Melendez dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate. They talked to Chennel’s husband, Mauricio Melendez, who denied any involvement in the shooting.

After questioning the Melendez’s seven-year-old son, they found that Mauricio shot Chennel in the early morning hours. Mauricio Melendez was arrested and charged with murder.

    Is las vegas police and the district attorney office still trying to find a motive to why chennel melendez was killed on august 7th, 2008? I dont understand why a motive needs to justify a crime or the actions there after. I seriously believe that the constitution needs to be revised!!!
