July 16, 2008 – 6600 Block of Sky Pointe Drive

On the morning of July 16, Metro Officers responded to the Guru Xpress Mini Mart to investigate a report that an employee had been shot. Arriving officers found 29-year-old Narinder Singh shot multiple times in the store’s office.

The investigation has determined the suspect is a former employee named Vicente Alvinez. Alvinez had been fired from the store the night before.

Alvinez fled the scene in a white 1987 Mazda RX7, with NV license plates 220-VJV.

Police are still investigating.

    I am a regular customer at this gas station. The victim who was shot was such a nice guy. I can’t believe someone would shoot someone over a minimum wage job, it’s so stupid. My heart is out to his girlfriend (who works there) as well as his coworkers and family. He was way to young to go.
