On the afternoon of July 2, Metro Police responded to reports that a female was deceased inside of a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Sherryl Guevarra-Sacueza deceased in the back seat of an SUV.

Officers say she was suffering from blunt force trauma to the head.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. Detectives have determined that the suspect, 32-year-old Jesus Roberto Munguia, and the victim were last seen leaving the house at approximately 3 a.m. Family members did not see the victim again until the her body was found later in the day.

Detectives believe this murder was a result of domestic violence.

Jesus Munguia was known to be driving a white, 1990’s Honda Civic. That vehicle was found in the area of Stocker and Tonopah. Munguia is not in custody and is to be considered dangerous.
