On the night of May 31, Metro Dispatch got a 911 call from a citizen reporting a shooting in the parking lot at Washington and Rancho.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene and discovered 29-year-old Seneca Hentz with a gunshot wound to his head inside a vehicle. The man was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced dead early the next morning.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The investigation revealed the deceased had been in a verbal altercation with a group of approximately 10 black male teens and young adults just prior to the shooting. He was driving away when he was shot.
It is unknown at this time if the murder is gang related.

On the evening of May 30, Metro Police got a call from a man that said he had returned home from work and found his wife dead in their home.
When officers arrived, they entered the house and found a woman, later identified as 67-year-old Patricia Louise Brafford, deceased in one of the bedrooms. The Coroner’s Office has ruled her death as a homicide from asphyxiation.
Homicide detectives were called and began their investigation. Detectives have learned that the husband had been at work since 11:00 a.m. and attempted to contact his wife on numerous occasions, but was unable to reach her. He returned home from work he found his wife deceased.
Detectives believe that the person responsible for the crime may have entered the house through a back door.
