On the night of June 12, Metro Police Officers responded to an apartment complex on Sierra Vista near Cambridge after getting reports that a man had been shot. When police arrived, they found 32-year-old Roberto Simmon lying outside an apartment, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police say a security officer working at the complex was responding to a loud music call at an apartment. As the guard knocked on the door, the deceased man attacked him. During the struggle, the officer fired one round, striking the man and killing him.
The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, no charges have been filed.

That place is a dump and should be torn down. We lived there over 10 years ago and it was just as bad back then. Living there motivated me and my wife to change our lives so that we never have to live in a place like that again. I feel bad for the people who have no choice but to live among the criminals and drug dealers over there.

This area has always been known for the crack and prostitution. I agree that it is unfortunate that good people are stuck in the ‘hood; but, most of the people there are degenerates and belong. Hopefully, the good make it out, and the bad stay so they don’t pollute the decent areas of this city (if there’s any left).
