On March 19, Metro officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had been parked in the same place for a few days.
Officers arrived and discovered a white male inside the back portion of the vehicle. Medical personnel responded and officers had to break a window to get into the vehicle. The victim was deceased.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The victim, 62-year-old Heinz Wietfeldt, had been reported missing Tuesday, March 18th by a friend.
He was found inside his white Cadillac Escalade. His hands and feet were bound.
During the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives identified two suspects, 27-year-old Kenneth Thomas and 27-year-old David Jones, for the death of Wietfeldt.
Both men were booked into the Clark County Detention Center and charged with one count each of murder with use of a deadly weapon with a victim over 60, kidnaping with use of a deadly weapon, robbery with use of deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit kidnaping.
Detectives have determined Wietfeldt was shot by thesuspects during a robbery. The suspects then placed his body in the back of the Cadillac Escalade and drove the victim’s vehicle to Southern
