shooting_feb13_180.jpgAt 4:25 p.m. on February 12th, Metro Police got a 911 call reporting 15-year-old Qubic Randolph had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found the teen in an apartment fighting for life. He was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died.

Las Vegas Metro Homicide Detectives were called and interviewed teens and adults who were present in the apartment where the victim was found.

During the investigation, detectives were told the victim had a small caliber pistol, and that a 17-year-old male had grabbed the pistol from the victim. When this happened, the pistol went off and struck the teen in the lower stomach area.

Detectives conducted a search warrant on the apartment and recovered a small caliber pistol.

The 17-year-old was not arrested while officers await the completion of forensic tests. The results of the investigation will then be forwarded to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for review to determine whether the 17-year-old will be prosecuted.

If charges are sought, the Juvenile Court and District Attorney’s Office will decide whether the juvenile will be charged as an adult.
