A bobcat was spotted in Sun City Anthem. Melodie Miller sent us pictures of the cat. She says they were taken at a home near the golf course.
She says the cat was not scared of her but watched her closely while she took pictures.
Of course, it's never a good idea to approach a wild animal.

We also live in Sun City Anthem very near a golf course and we too have a local bobcat who shows up in our backyard occasionally - she even sleeps in our backyard sometimes.
When this picture was posted earlier in another section of this website, there was a post calling for the “protection” of this animal. If you call the “authorities” for a bobcat complaint, the cat will either be killed or “re-located” depending on which location you live in here in the LV valley. These cats don’t need protection and neither do we - we can all “just get along” if we just leave them alone.
We love the fact that the bobcat keeps down the local rabbit/pest population and we *really* look forward to seeing her around. We don’t miss those rabbits one bit.
Quit euthanizing nature!

Nevada Department of Wildlife and Henderson Animal Control will only come out if the bobcat is injured or has injured somebody or is inside a house or at a school. Then NDOW usually kills them and Henderson will relocate them. Bobcats dont bother anybody and too many people in Anthem fail to realize they live at the edge of the desert with water all around their pretty golf courses. If it wasnt for them NDOW would probably just leave them

oh ya, and bobcats are wonderful reason for people to keep their house cats INSIDE, there is no easier prey for a bobcat or coyote than a slow house cat

Wow, bobcats are so pretty. I like their ears.
I wish there were some in the south west were I live.

If it comes in our yard my husband will make me a new pair of bobcat slippers.

If your husband did that without provocation he’d also go to jail, just a warning.

How is that? And how would anybody know that it was “without provocation?” After all if the bobcat is not alive to testify on its on behalf than how would you know it was “without provocation?”

There hasn’t been a reported bobcat attack on a person in Nevada in 17 years so believing that a well fed bobcat would go after a person is hard to pass. two people in Mt Charleston got charged last year for shooting a bobcat without provocation for shooting it when it was just sitting in the back of their yard, they had previously bragged on a blog about wanting to shoot a bobcat. so there. Not being an ass just giving you a heads up.
