Frank Caliendo Grand Opening at Monte Carlo

Comedian Impressionist, Frank Caliendo, officially has his own show at the Monte Carlo. The Grand Opening was Friday night. The show includes some of his famous impressions: George W. Bush, John Madden, Charles Barkley, and Bill Clinton.

Caliendo signed a 10 year deal at the Hotel Casino. Several friends from the strip surprised the audience during the show Friday, as special guests. Terry Fator, Carott Top, and Louie Anderson all joined in on the fun! They all took a moment to plug their “own” shows on the strip.

Holly Madison Visits Las Vegas’ FIRST FRIDAY Event

Holly Madison visited downtown Las Vegas’ First Friday event this weekend. She met up with Mayor Oscar Goodman . The Mayor and Holly toured some of the great art galleries downtown around Colorado, California and Main Street.

Holly hung out with ‘The Worlds Happiest Mayor’ before she took in some shopping and checked out the arts and crafts booths. Madison picked up a Tambourine and some pins. She also enjoyed a Giant hot Dog smothered with Cheese! Holly also stopped by Fat Daddy’s Ice Cream truck for a Orange creamcicle pop. She stopped to pose for pictures with fans.

First Friday happens the First Friday of every month downtown in the Arts District at Charleston and Main Streets and at Colorado and California Streets. There is live music, open art galleries, food vendors, Arts and Crafts and street performers. It’s free to the public to attend.

Cirque Du Soleil Names New Elvis Inspired Las Vegas Show

Viva ELVIS is the name!  The new show will open at MGM Mirage’s Aria at City Center.

On the Cirque website, the show is described as:  a harmonious fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music.  It’s a tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley. Nostalgia, modernity and raw emotion provide the backdrop for his immortal voice and the exhilaration and beauty of his music. Viva ELVIS focuses on the essential humanity of the one superstar whose name will forever be linked with the history of Las Vegas and the entire world of entertainment: Elvis Presley.

Aria opens December 16th.

Bette Midler announced today that the final performance of her critically acclaimed Las Vegas show The Showgirl Must Go On will be Sunday, January 31, 2010. The final performance will mark the end of her two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace which began on February 20, 2008.

“What a fabulous two years this has been, and I thank AEG and Caesars Palace for the best partnership a showgirl could imagine. Who knows? These legs have had such a great run in the desert—it may be time to haul them to places with more humidity and fewer slot machines. But first I need to finish recording my album of the sexiest new love songs that only a showgirl could sing,” stated Midler.

“Bette is one of the most talented, hard working professionals in the business and we would have loved for her to stay longer, said John Meglen, co-CEO and President of AEG Live/Concerts West. “All of us at AEG Live thank Bette and the entire cast, crew and staff for a great two year run at The Colosseum.”

“Like every one of her performances, the approaching finale of Bette’s two-year engagement leaves us applauding for more,” said Gary Selesner, president of Caesars Palace. “Bette always will have a home at Caesars Palace.”

The Showgirl Must Go On will perform November 7 -15 and December 30 – January 31, 2010. The show is dark Monday, Thursday and occasional Fridays. Wayne Newton Opens “Once Before I Go” at Tropicana

Mr. Las Vegas debuted his new show at the Tropicana this week.    Wayne Newton’s show is called, “Once Before I Go.”  In the show, Newton sings along with Sammy Davis Jr., who is on the screens behind him.  He also brought, Dancing With The Stars dancer, Cheryl Burke out on stage with him.

Celebrities walked the red carpet before taking in the show. Drew Carey, Holly Madison, Carrot Top, Vanna White, and many more!

Missouri Couple 30 Millionth Cirque Ticket Holder

Cirque du Soleil characters surprised the 30 millionth Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil Show ticket holders at the show Mystere.

Tommy and Rachel Sparger are from Springfield, Missouri. The couple won a roundtrip airfare for two to Las Vegas from anywhere in the Continental U.S., two tickets to all six Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas Productions, a dinner for two at the Treasure Island Isla Mexican Kitchen and seven nights in a Treasure Island Tower Suite on the Las Vegas Strip.

Garth Brooks & Steve Wynn Announcement

Country superstar, Garth Brooks will take the stage again. He will perform weekends at the Encore/Wynn Las Vegas starting December 11th.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 24th. Brooks will peform one show on Friday nights and two shows on Saturday. All tickets are $125.

Hard Rock Cafe Grand Opening “Guitar Smash”

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon’s Las Vegas Weekend

On Saturday night Mariah Carey performed her final performance in a set of four sold out shows at The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort.

The show was full of surprises! During the show, a young male couple was brought on stage for a surprise wedding proposal. Mariah also belted out a Happy Birthday tune to her hubby Nick Cannon who was at the soundboard during the whole show dancing.

Nick also celebrated his birthday at the Bank Nightclub at the Bellagio on Saturday night.

Former “Jersey Boy” Lands TV Gig

Former “Jersey Boy,” Erich Bergen has landed at Television gig. According to his facebook page, twitter, and blogger Steve Friess, Bergen will join the cast of Gossip Girl. He will shoot three episodes. One of them alongside Hillary Duff and Lady Gaga.

Shooting began Friday, October 9th. Bergen portrayed Jersey Boy Bob Gaudio for years on tour and in Las Vegas. He was suddenly let go in September. He also co-produced a special Michael Jackson tribute concert in August that raised about $100,000 for the Clark County Public School Music Program.

his one-man play, “A Bronx Tale” at The Venetian Showroom
with a post performance party at LAVO.

A BRONX TALE is a funny and touching memoir written by and starring
Chazz Palminteri. In the celebrated play on which he based the
legendary movie, directed by and co-starring Robert De Niro,
Palminteri brings 18 characters to life while vividly depicting a
young boy’s rough childhood in the 1960’s-era Bronx and the
unforgettable people he encountered.

Van Morrison Peforms at The Joint

Van Morrison performed at The Joint in The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino toa SOLD OUT crowd. Morrison, wearing his iconic black Fedora and dark sunglasses, performed some his greatest tunes. Van Morrison played Piano, Guitar, Saxophone and Harmonica throughout the show.

Highlights included the tunes In The Garden, Moondance (a jazzyversion reminicent of classic Miles Davis and Art Blakey tunes), Gloria, And The Healing Has begun, That’s Life, and Have I Told You Lately?
