NBA Star Facing Felony Charges for Gambling Debt
A prosecutor says retired NBA star Charles Barkley is facing felony charges if he fails to repay a $400,000 gambling debt to a Las Vegas Strip casino.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger says Barkley will get a chance to make restitution to Wynn Las Vegas to avoid facing felony bad check charges. The casino alleges in court documents filed Wednesday that Barkley failed to repay four $100,000 casino markers, or loans, he received last Oct. 18 and 19. The 45-year-old Barkley played 16 NBA seasons and was named MVP in 1993. He’s now a basketball analyst for Turner Network Television.
A TNT spokeswoman in Atlanta and Barkley’s agent in New York did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

He should only be required to pay what he owes and nothing more…It says 100K in markers, the other 300K for bouncing checks is a ridiculous fee, don’t you think?

Heck No…who wants to pay Casino Debts? If the casino’s let people gamble on credit, the casino takes the risk. The casino lost the bet that he would pay the markers…the Casino lost!!!
