According to the AP, the inventor of the Egg McMuffin — McDonald’s signature breakfast — has passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Peterson came up with it in 1972. He started his career with McDonald’s as vice president of their advertising firm, D’Arcy Advertising in Chicago. He wrote their first national advertising slogan, “Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day.” He died at his home in Santa Barbara, California.
I knew Mr. Peterson when I lived in Santa Barbara. He was a very nice Man.
Condolences to his family.

This was actually invented? A bunch of guys sitting arround saying “we should put the egg on the outside of the English muffin” and Mr. Peterson says “no, let’s put it on the inside” and so he invented it?

I bet the reason he lived to 89 was because he never actually ate one of these egg mcmuffins. If he did, he might have passed away peacefully a lot sooner. I am in my 30’s and suffering from heaviness because of all the good stuff invented by people like this. I was born in ‘73. I think I am totally screwed over now.
