Pop Culture Collection Headed to Vegas Auction Block

witch_oz_180.jpg Today in New York City, the Guernsey Auction House showed off a pop culture collection that will be auctioned off in Las Vegas next month. You can see a preview here. The collection has items gathered from politics, music, movies and television over several decades. Some of the items include Christopher Reeve’s Superman suit, the hat worn by the Wicked Witch of the West in the “Wizard of Oz” and a rocking chair used by President John F. Kennedy. Now that’s a piece of history. In all, 850 items will be on the block March 15 & 16 at the Palms Casino.

Actually, there is the online preview that can be found here: http://www.guernseys.com/Auctions/Pugliese/preview/index.html

As for a physical one, I found the following on the website:

    Public Preview
    Wednesday, March 12, 2008: 1pm to 9pm
    Thursday, March 13, 2008: 11am to 9pm
    Friday, March 14, 2008: 1pm to 9pm

    Hope this helps.

Since online advertising alone does not appear to offer enough revenue to support the cost of running and creating quality content, clearly there is a problem. ,
