Senator Hillary Clinton is in Las Vegas, making here ninth appearance since starting her campaign last year.

She’s canvassing neighborhoods, meeting with possible caucus-goers. But in just a short time, she’ll be sitting down for some Mexican food and talking with voters.

This is not only about beating Barack Obama to the punch, being first to come here since her new Hampshire win, it’s also about shoring up the Hispanic vote.

Lindo Michocan started preparing shortly after lunch time for Clinton’s arrival. The restaurant is owned by Javier Brajas and his family. Brajas came here as an immigrant and is very politically active. His daughter, Celeste has been leaning toward Hillary. And she says it’s a good day for business — and for making a deciding vote.

“Just with all the phone calls and all the people we got today, it’s definitely a positive thing, yeah,” said Celeste.

Eyewitness News also had an inside look at the Clinton nerve center Thursday. The Tropicana office was filled with a massive phone bank and supporters by the dozens. The Clinton campaign has enjoyed a large presence here for months and hope to continue calling and getting signs ready for next Saturday.

Clinton is expected to focus on a very “Nevada” issue: foreclosures.

  3. It’s great that Hillary knows and understands the muscle of the Hispanic Vote. Unfortunately folks like Marjorie are victims of their ignorance and are unable to process intellectual information. On another note, it will be great to have Hillary as president and of course her husband Bill will be warmly welcomed. Our country enjoyed such a boost in the economy when he was president; we also enjoyed the lowest unemployment percentage in decades which is something Hillary will be able to replicate. Go vote for Hillary she is the only candidate with such impressive credentials that is ready to make changes on day one. Sorry Obama folks, I know the truth hurts, but he is not ready to be President of the United States.

Vote for the candidate that is truly ready for change; Vote for Hillary!

  4. Let me start by saying I am a culinary union member and I stand with Hillary all the way!!! She is change, where change is needed. She has the people of Nevada in her voice. Yucca Mountain, Forclosures, universal health care, support of gambling laws in Nevada, etc… She is what Nevada needs, she is what Washington needs, and she is what the people of this country need. Stand with me in support of our next president, Hillary Clinton!!! Thank You
