Another brutal dog attack in the streets leaves a man in the hospital and four dogs in quarantine. Three of them were Pitbulls. The attack happened near D Street and Freeman and as it turns out the owner of the dogs is now behind bars.
The owner, 52-year-old Larry James Washington, is a sex offender who failed to register his address with law enforcement.
Eyewitnesses to the dog attack said the pack of dogs terrorized the neighborhood. They describe how the four dogs came tearing around the corner, fighting and biting each other before locking on to a door-to-door salesman.
“I just saw all this commotion and people were jumping out of they cars to help. They had bars and stuff in their hands and they were just swinging it,” said eyewitness Brinda Anderson.
Neighbors looked on in horror as the man was attacked by all four dogs. Three of them were Pitbulls and the other was a Sharpe mix. Witnesses say three of the dogs were scared off, but one latched on like a vice. Luckily, people driving by stopped to help.
Erma Wilson watched the whole attack from start to finish.
“They must have chewed on him for about three to five minutes and he was like, ‘Oh Lord.' I just started hollering, ‘Jesus, Jesus, somebody help him.' And three cars pull in and they start trying to get the dogs off, throwing rocks or whatever they could do,” she said.
Las Vegas Animal Control took all four dogs into quarantine and Washington will face a citation. However, he will be in more trouble for not registering as a sex offender living at that address.
There are also few details as to the condition of the victim, but he was bitten heavily in the leg.

PIT BULLS ARE ONE OF THE MOST INTELLECTUALLY DEFICIENT DOG BREEDS. LAS VEGAS LEADS THE COUNTRY IN HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUTS. IE; STUPID PEOPLE OWN STUPID DOGS. IT IS TIME TO BAN THESE AGGRESSIVE BREEDS UNLESS THE OWNERS CAN PASS A SUITABILITY TEST.

I don’t like to hear stories about Pit bulls attacking people. I own several Pit Bulls and I have never had a problem they are very loving dogs. I believe it could have been any breed of dog to do this it all falls back on the owner and how they raised there dog. I do agree with people having to pass some sort of suitability test to own any large dog not just PIT BULLS I believe banning PIT BULLS is going a bit too far.

I am a proud owner of a pitbull and I am tired of the stereotypes. You can make any dog mean, reguardless of the breed, it’s all in how they are raised. It’s sad that people get ahold of animals and don’t take the time to properly train them. My pit is a WONDERFUL family dog and wouldn’t hurt a fly if he had to, he’s a 90 lb. baby, however, we TRAINED him to be a FAMILY DOG!

Staffordshire Terriers are loving, affectionate, intelligent animals. They only became pit bulls when dog fighters started breeding aggressive tendencies in them. It is time to stop blaming the breed and start blaming those owners that insist on training these dogs to be aggressive. Banning the breed is not the solution, education and diligence is.

The comment from John p. shows how intellectulaly deficient he is. I believe that with a little research and understanding people would be less inclined to make brash decisions based off emotions and common stereotypes…Really..cars kill more people than animals why dont we ban cars…its this kind of sterotypical sensationalizm that causes irrational judgement.

I have a dauschund and by years of breeding she burrows without ever being taught that a day in her life. Sorry to all you owners who have “lovable” pitt bulls they are unfortunately a breed that has been forever tainted because of how long they have been breed to fight. I LOVE dogs but I have two small children and if I ever see a pitt bull coming towards them I would shoot it in a millisecond. Its not worth my childs life to wait and see if the dog is “lovable” I feel bad for them but its instinct for them they are after all “animals…”

what people fail to relize is that even though pitbulls were breed to fight other dogs human agression was never allowed so you right they might go after another dog because of the way there have been breed thoughout the years but human agression is clearly a taught behavior for this breed please read up on the breed b4 you make judgment blame the owner not the dog their juss like kids nobody is born racist but you have racist children whos to blame the kids because their family racist or the parents for teaching them food for tought thanks people
