Governor Jim Gibbons’ divorce has become a full blown scandal. First Lady Dawn Gibbons has accused her husband of having an affair with a married woman. She wants the court to open up the proceedings, which the governor had sealed.

At a news conference Wednesday, the governor snapped at reporters who asked about the first lady’s accusations. Gibbons says a response he had published earlier this week to an Elko newspaper is his final word on the divorce.

  1. If this is true, shame on Governor Gibbons. There is never any justification for adultery. If you are married, BE married. Don’t fool around behind your spouse’s back. Don’t stoop to betrayal and deceit.

  2. We had our first glimpse of what is now the future present during the cocktail waitress incident during the election. Wonder how much longer he can hold out? Also makes me wonder just what other compromises he’s made and not just marital morals. Are all those who voted for this scoundrel are still happy? Maybe he’ll plan another business trip out of state to get away from gossip mongrel news reporters? Hmm, just how long could he make the next one, 3yrs?

  3. look at how they bullied the waitress, then look at the way he treats someone he once loved - can he really be trusted to be truthful with other affairs???

  4. Kick him out. That is what he was doing instead of arresting the 14 Endoscopy Monster Doctors for attempted murder and murder. He cound not stand up to the medical board which we now know is worthless as tits on a boar and 52nd in the country as medical boards

  5. They both are idiots and neither one of them should be in the Mansion……she doesn’t want to talk about the divorce - wasn’t it SHE that brought all of the stuff out in the public in the first place!!! They both need to move on with their lives and leave him to run the State while he’s still in office. Why should she be allowed to stay in the Mansion at all - they are getting a divorce and he is the Governor, not her….

  6. Now, what a tangled web we weave…..this man has no morals and like someone else wrote….what other little goodies is this man hiding. Dawn Gibbons or any other person does not deserve this treatment. Looks like he doesn’t have any b****.

  8. Personally, I’d rather live next door to a whore than to a politician. Apparently they are a higher class of people. But then that is just my observation.

  9. Public Officials should NOT be allowed to have any court cases or hearing sealed and private!

This private and sealed business is stepping on our rights as Nevada citizens.
We, as Nevada citizens. vote for our public officials.
We, as Nevada citizens, should have a right to make our own judgements by seeing all of our elected Public officials court cases and hearings.
Jim Gibbons thinks that he is like a private Nevada citizen. He is NOT. He is an elected Public Official. All his rights to private and sealed court cases and hearings should not be allowed unless he steps down from his elected Public Office.
We, as Nevada citizens, should have a right to know publicly and openly about all our elected Public Officials, court, hearings and legal proceedings of any kind. If, one of our elected Public Officials, like Jim Gibbons, wishes to have any of their court or hearings private and sealed, they should be forced to resign.

  11. Why do wives always blame the Mistress? It’s not the Mistress’ fault but the fault of both married people. Kudos to him for getting out of a marriage that he doesn’t want to be in! Perhaps he did find someone he is more compatible with…it happens and people change. Wives have this habit of thinking they are the only woman the man should be with, especially if they are shirking their “wifely” duties. Shame on the Mrs. for not getting out sooner before he lef (there are always signs and opportunities to leave) rather than playing the “dumb wife, I didn’t know, stand by your man” role. Get some b*lls–and big ones I might add–and get on with your life! If there should be a new law at all it should be one that outlaws marriage!
