A few weeks ago, I blogged that attendance at the Nevada caucuses is liable to be light.  I hope not.  Nevada has a chance to shine in the national spotlight, and it would be wonderful to see attendance break all expectations!  We have a chance to show the nation that our opinion counts, and that our views matter.

To find out where to attend a caucus of either party, check out our Nevada Votes section on lasvegasnow.com, or check the website of the Nevada political parties.  Attending a caucus will be an exciting way to get involved with your community.

  3. You must be a strict Democrat. I cannot find the information on where the caucuses are held! I think Barack Obama is a sheep in wolves clothing!

  4. As a participant in the NV caucus the experience literally made me sick to my stomach. I cannot believe our voting system has sunk to this level. It was an absolute fiasco for a number of reasons, with a HUGE margin for error. Give me back the ‘primary’! Responsible voters should never again have to go through this deplorable procedure in order to participate in the American right to vote!!

  5. I arrived on time 10:30 for the caucus and the doors were to be closed at eleven. They closed the doors at noon. There were many elderly that couldn’t stay because of heath problems, and many who needed to be at work and couldn’t stay for the whole two and a half hour procedure. It’s a lie to say it takes an hour. Three of my famly couldn’t participate because they were at work. The system isn’t fair. We need a real primary. Is it because our state can’t aford to use the voting machines? The state is getting too big for a system that worked 20 years ago when the states population was at two hundred throusand. If we would like to lead in the country with our causus we should lead with a primary and have everyone’s voice not just a few. There is also a little intimidation going on in that room. There is going to be a large amount of people that won’t caucus again.
