From the Executive Director not knowing what a "bully breed" is, to an Operations Manager who threatens people who donate, to a staff that is scared to death to say what is really going on...Animals are being sent for Medical services and not coming back, animals are being stolen but not reported, animals are being killed in less than 72 hours and then taken in dump trucks to the dump - it is "cheaper" than incinerating. They also decided not to give the animals vaccines because it cost too much. They wouldnt buy shampoo to wash dogs. And management is constantly doctoring the data to the jurisdictions, to their Board of Directors, and to the public. This place should make us embarrassed to be a citizen of Las Vegas. It has turned from a "no care shelter" to a "high kill shelter". Nearly 8 out of 10 animals are put down - most within 72 hours! Take them to the NSPCA on Dewey Drive. I work where i live and someone called animal shelter because she was found in rocks and bushes by my office door. Someone had brutely beaten her with a bath or a shoe or some blunt object. She went under surgery yesterday, and died early this morning. It makes me sick to know there are people out there who will harm such innocent animals. Please keep a close eye on your animals when they are outside, i would hate for someone else to have to go through all this pain i am going through. My Husband bought this dog for me before he left for military boot camp. He is currently in Iraq as we speak. This dog was a huge part of our family, and my 8 month old babies best friend. I have hopes that other pet lovers join me in getting the deplorable conditions that are at the Look Puppies on Snset ave. These small puppies are kept on metal floor cages and in one cage their was two small dogs who could not even turn around. We went thair today to look for a new friend whon we lost last saturday after almost 17 years.I called the animal contol and they informed me this palce has had numerous complaints to no avail as they just happen to meet the requirements. I find it hard to believe that these people did nothing. Pay raises for existing employees will not increase productivity unless they are super humans. I have been in Vegas for 15 years and the shelter has gone from bad to worse!! I know most of this is the community's fault - there are too many ignorant people out there who feel that animals are disposable. My ignorant neighbors across the street have managed to lose 2 Chihuahuas and one Pit in the last year. They never had collars and these people didn't even bother to look for the missing animals!!!
