You’ve heard the old cliché that Las Vegas has more churches per capita than any other city in America? Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t, but we’re about to get another one.
The Raelians are unlike any other religion in the world since they do not believe in God at all. But it’s their other beliefs that are more likely to raise hackles among other faiths.
Go ahead, make our day and type away about the Realians and their relocation to Las Vegas.
The Raelians sounds like they would be a good fit in parts of California, too. Areas like Santa Cruz, or Marin County, California would be appropriate places for the Raelians to have its headquarters at.

I think that the Raelians coming the Las Vegas is a wonderful new step for this communities future…. As was said in the interview, this city is full of open minds and people from all over the world come here just for that, so to add to the diversity of what Vegas has to offer, this Philosophy of Pleasure, No God, No Guilt and Freedom seems to be exactly where it belongs. I hope that people can see between what many fear when they see something new enter the main stream… and welcome it as revolutionary and with an open mind! Peace and Love to All!

For all those who would like to know more about the Raelian philosophy, we are having a meeting this Sunday, May 13. RAEL himself will most likely attend! Send an email to thomas@rael.org to receive more info.

Is it my imagination or is there a Nazi swastika in the middle of their symbol?
Comment by Gail — May 8, 2007 @ 11:25 am
Raelianism should be the future of humanity.
It is more realistic to believe in science as our god. If it was not for science only 1/3 of the worlds population would be alive today since there would be no antibiotics, and other medicines that save lives. Science is HOPE for humanity. The Vatican is loosing it’s grip because science has proven that the real miracles are miracles of science. Mistisism and ignorance are out.

What???????????????
No. Enough with all that.
I love my Lord….GOD

Well isn’t that interesting; a religion that preaches non violence, pleasure & personal fulfillment without guilt, the importance of science, freedom of thought, toleration and allowance of others. It will fun to watch them and see if they will survive the test of time and the intolerance and prejudices of mankind and his other made up religions…

I believe that everyone has a right to worship whatever religion they so deem to be the right religion to worship WITHOUT the persicution of others. I think it is important to remember that this country was founded on the sole basis that the immigrants who landed here wanted RELIGIOUS freedom. The right to practice and believe as they saw fit. I believe in god with all my heart, might, mind and strength. I am a science major. Biological sciences for that matter, but I also recognize that through god these “miracles” of science were made possible.

Welcome to the greatest and most entertaining time of year for your local TV news: MAY SWEEPS!!! WHOO HOO!
The time when all these great little stories pop up. You know the ones that are meant to scare you, or the little whimsical stories that don’t really have a whole lot of substance. I love the teasers! ( Read the following in a low raspy announcer voice ) RAELIANS INVADING VEGAS…TONIGHT AT 11. What next? Oh how about, THERE’S SOMETHING LURKING IN YOUR HOUSE. FIND OUT WHAT IT IS…TONIGHT AT 11. Then you tune in and find out its a stupid story about dust bunnies or some harmless thing. Hey, maybe we should use this space to have a “May Sweeps Teasers” contest. I’ll start. VAMPIRES IN VEGAS!…IS YOUR NEIGHBOR ONE OF THEM?…GEORGE KNAPP INVESTIGATES…TONIGHT AT 11. (Oh yeah the only rule is everything must end in..TONIGHT AT 11.)Can’t be worse than anything else the people at the network can come up with.
Oh yeah, as far as Raelians in Vegas…who cares. I’m not a Raelian but I know Ricky and he’s a good human being. In this country with freedom of religion that should be all that counts.

“The Raelians are unlike any other religion in the world since they do not believe in God at all. But it’s their other beliefs that are more likely to raise hackles among other faiths.”
In fact, there are but three religions in the world that worship “God:” Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. All the other thousands of religions either have their own gods/goddesses, or none at all, including Scientology, LaVeyan Satanism, and of course, Buddhism.

“Is it my imagination or is there a Nazi swastika in the middle of their symbol?”
Many other religions use a swastika, and no, they are not Nazis. The emblem existed long before Nazis turned it around and made it into the symbol that only a certain portion of the world thinks it is.
Comment by Hellbound Alleee — May 8, 2007 @ 5:04 pm
This is soooooooo exciting. Most will realize the Honor in this oneday. Many never will…And to eduardo prats, “Yes” to your question about the swastika. This symbol existed long before Hitler stole the center of it for his own morbid purpose. It’s time everyone knows where this symbol came from originally and why. Congratulations Vegas!!! d

An atheist religion wich prefer science over blind faith? Wow! That is refreshing
news for the brain.
At least aliens are material and not immaterial. This sounds more logical and plausible to me.
Perhaps when you mix Mormons, who believe in a material God, with atheist you get: The Raelians.
You should do a more extensive report on their beleifs. I will surely keep an eye of interest on this new group.

i would like more info about this. i would like to go to one of their lectures. let’s face it people, there has got to be a more intelligent life somewhere out there. this can’t be all that’s left. if it is, WE ARE DOOMED!.

alien’s have been trying to sand us message’s for a long time, but no one wants to believe in what they haven’t seen. i have seen….. they have been trying to let us know what we need to do to protect this planet, but as usual,we or should i say, the US.is the most selfish, greedy, uncareing about only themselves. everyone cries about water shortage, but when it’s to late, then they run around like chicken’s with there heads off, trying to solve a problem that should have been thought about a lobg time ago.i could go on, but the human’s will see their mistake’s soon enough.IT WILL BE TOO LATE.PEACE OUT.*************

I really know about the Raelians and in the end it is based, and solely based on belief. You must believe that Claude Vorilhon (Rael) met with E.T.’s twice and he went to their planet (yeah sure). You also must accept him has Jesus half-brother and that he’s the last prophet to set foot on earth. Also, you can initiate your kids to physical sex. The science thing is hogwash and the cloning thing is bogus. Raelism is not a religion it’s a cult, but an ‘innocent’ one, is it really?
Comment by Picasso — May 8, 2007 @ 7:19 pm
In response to the last comment, there is a difference between BLIND faith or blind belief and belief based on understanding. It is true that we must take Rael’s word for him saying that he met the Elohim, but it is not him saying this that is important; it is the MESSAGE that he brings to humanity that each person should read for himself and decide if it makes sense to him/her. If you read the “messages”, you will be able to decide for yourself if you hear the Elohim speaking or not. It requires the consciousness, which is exactly what the Elohim want, according to Rael. They want us to use our intelligence to decide if Rael really met with them or not. They could have easily provided him with some physical proof (which many would have called a hoax or false anyway), but then where would the challenge be? Where would be the test of our intelligence? We are living in the age of scientific understanding, and so the methods and ways of communication of this prophet are different–on purpose–from those of the prophets of the past, like Moses and Jesus who had to perform “miracles” (really advanced scientific acts) in order to attract “followers.” Raelians are not followers. They are free thinkers who use their consciousness to decide what makes sense to them or not. There is a big difference between that and the blind faith of most other religions.

Greetings,
I see nothing wrong with the Raelians coming to Las Vegas.
Why is it that everyone is in such an uproar? I personally find the idea of Intelligent Design an idea that has been around a long time.
Humans have forever believed that we are the center of the universe and that we are also the only intelligent beings in existance.
What are the odds???
Whats wrong with respecting others beliefs??
Live and let live!!
If you do not like the song on the radio or the show on TV….
Just change the channel!
But if its a group of people.
Who promote peace, love and the idea that we are not alone in the universe.
I say we respect them and welcome them.
BIG DAVE

Claude Vorilhon is a con artist and fraud. The Raelians are not a good group.

I fell they have the right to believe in whatever they want as long as they do not force it on other people or harm anyone

Shame on this TV station for giving the Raelians what they want Free Publicity. If the reporters would have done their research they would have found this out along with the fact that this group is a destructive cult. Rael is a classic cult leader calling himself a prophet and claiming he’s the half brother of Jesus.
Comment by Susan — May 22, 2007 @ 4:56 am
I think it’s great! It’s closer than Canada since I’m in Arizona and want to hang with the group.
Way to go Rael, Ricky and all!!!!

How insensitive of anyone singleing out Raelians calling Raelians a cult- all religions are cults -what cult do you belong to?
At least Raelians have the guts to think for themselves outside the box and beleive in SCIENCE as the supreme god of the universe. Ancient religions are clouded with misticism and cannot offer tangible hope for humanity.
