Beat the Traffic!
We debuted a new "real time" traffic system today on Eyewitness News This Morning. It’s the valley’s only system that can show you REAL time traffic conditions on the highways. You will be able to actually see the traffic speeds on the highways. You will be able to glance at the T.V. and see if there is a slow down that affects your commute!
Green flows mean speeds are at 45 mph or above. Yellow shows speeds of 45 mph to 30 mph. And, Red shows 30 mph or under. If you are seeing a red highlighted highway.. you will probably want to take another route.
The system allows us to fly around the valley…. it even lets us fly over the California and Arizona border to show traffic conditions. It really is unique. Beat the Traffic will help us more accuratley point out traffic conditions.

Those red, yellow and green cartoons looked pretty as I watched them this morning while anticipating my normal slow commute on the 515. I was surprised to see everything green (at least until the spaghetti bowl, like usual). So, I get in my car and get on the 515 northbound. What happened next? I was on my normal commute at about 35 mph. Wow! Only 10 minutes ago your cartoon showed everything on this highway to be green!! Once again, I was taken in by a multi-colored animation. I’m ashamed of myself.
