Let's set the facts straight. Many, many of the people who are affected by the right hand turn do not live in Summerlin! So please quit referring to us as "Summerlin cry babies". Also, we're not talking about one or two planes overhead folks...We're talking about one plane after another. It's impossible to get a decent nights sleep. They fly overhead as late as 1 or 2:00 AM and start again at 6:00 AM. Yesterday (sunday morning) they started at 5:50 AM !!I'm all for growth in the city, etc. What I don't understand is why the FAA is not willing to at least offer a compromise so we can at least get some sleep!

I don't see the issue. Almost every plane that takes off from McCarran flys over my apartment all day long, and 99% I don't even hear. And that's with living in an apartment with paper thin walls. This is not worth taxpayers money to fight an issue that is not going to change no matter how much you yell about it. The "People's Republic" will just have to realize that they live in a urban area and this is part of it.

I dont believe that the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, or the State of Nevada guarenteed those under the right hand turn flight path a quiet serene lifestyle. If they were indeed guarenteed this life style maybe these crybabies ought to go to their builder or real estate agent and see how much their tears mean to them. Afterall they are the people who built and sold the Summerlin idiots there homes.

I live in colorado and go to las vegas every once in a while to visit my uncle in henderson. The planes are noisy there also!! It was so noisy in fact I asked my uncle how he lives with it. He said that he doesnt notice them unless they "throttle down" over his house. He lives under the approach path to McCarren. Vegas is a valley city, so everything is going to be amplified no matter where anybody lives. I do know its a hundered times worse in the NW valley. Well when Ivanpah airport opens down the road, it will relieve some congestion. Until then, McCarren and the D-gates will keep on expanding leading to more congestion and noise. Im truely sorry for the man who cant sleep at night because of noisy airplanes. give me your opinion

I think if the residents of Summerlin or going to waste hard earn taxpayer money on fighting the FAA, the rest of the people who live in the Las Vegas area has every right to tell you guys to live with it. Again, everyone else in the valley lives with various noises on a daily basis. What makes you people so special. Nothing.

Mr Goodman:
I have an idea. People who live in Summerlin already pay an extra fee to the City for keeping their streets clean and manicured.
Why don't your treasurer charge them an extra fee to pay for the lawyers to fight for them? I think many people there can write you a few $300,000 checks out of their trust accounts!

What I want to know about all these people in Summerlin is if the noise of airplanes 10,000 feet over their houses bother them, then why don't they get pissed off about all these motorcycles with no exhaust pipes running around rattling windows.

Maybe we should spend some money on fighting loud pile of junk Harley's.

When all the planes turned LEFT, where did people think they went- into thin air? No, the planes went over the folks in the SW part of the valley. We all need to share in the burden that McCarran brings as well as the wealth of tourists it also brings.
Turning RIGHT also creates more airspace, less time wasted waiting on taxiways, thus better for the environment. We had Right turns in the 1990's and McCarran can only expand if we allow Right turns as well as Left in the future. If you want economic prosperity, we all will need to live with aircraft noise in our valley.
Someday, the new airport at Jean may provide some relief for all Valley residents- Thats the project people should be pushing for development.
